Fees

The Pectus Clinic is a highly specialised clinic with a world-wide reputation seeing over a thousand patients a year with chest wall deformity - our fees reflect that experience.

Self-Pay

The fee for an initial consultation is £250*.

The fee for any follow-up consultation is £175.

Self-pay patients are required to pay before the consultation can take place (unless otherwise agreed upon by the Pectus Clinic).

These estimates are correct as of September 2022.

Should you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the appointment charge OR an amount of £100 (initial consultation) and £75 (follow-up consultation) may be charged.

Following your consultation, you may need certain tests (such as imaging, for example an X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI, or CT scan) to help diagnose your condition. The test is undertaken by the clinic or hospital, and the fees for those tests will be determined by the clinic or hospital and charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately.

*Note: in cases which are complex, is a 2nd Opinion and/or detailed case and imaging review is requested, an additional charge may be applied

Private Medical Insurance

If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees or tests that may be required.

A pre-authorisation should be obtained before the consultation and prior to any tests requested.

We are recognised by most private medical insurers and charge within the agreed limits set by your insurer [fee assured]. We use a billing service, Medical Billing Direct (MBD) to invoice your insurer.

Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer (a shortfall). MBD are instructed to invoice you directly for any shortfall.
